eBike Tours
The best way to discover the “Coastal Path” along the Málaga coastline. Perfect for couples, groups, companies, team building, friends, and travelers who want to enjoy the scenery in greater comfort.
We will depart from Rent a Bike Dlabuela, and you can choose between two different routes.
If we head west, we will follow “The old Cochinita train.” We will ride along the coastal road, briefly joining the old N-340 highway before connecting with the “Coastal Path,” which stretches for 24 km all the way to Málaga Port, “Muelle 1.” The route is flat, allowing us to comfortably follow the path once traveled by the old “Cochinita” railway.
Along the way, we will visit ancient watchtowers such as Torre Moya in Benajarafe, old train stations like Chilches Costa Station, archaeological parks such as “Villa Antiopía” in Benagalbón, railway tunnels including El Cantal in Rincón de la Victoria, and the Peñón del Cuervo. Eventually, we will reach the seaside promenade of Pedregalejo, surrounded by beach bars and charming places where we can enjoy a Spanish beer or wine.
Finally, we will arrive at Muelle 1, where visitors can explore and shop in the many stores and boutiques.
After a short break, we will return to Benajarafe along the same route, as surely a delicious “espeto” of grilled sardines will be waiting for us at one of the fantastic local restaurants in our village.
If we head east, “The Almayate Bull Route” will reveal great treasures from the past.
Starting from Rent a Bike Dlabuela, we will soon enter the avocado fields of the Axarquía region, where we can admire some of the most unique avocado plantations in Europe. We will then take a dirt path leading to the Peñón del Toro, a sedimentary rock formation created around 4 million years ago during the Lower Pliocene, when the sea extended much further inland across today’s Axarquía region.
Here, we can observe bioclasts embedded in the rock, characteristic of the sandstone extracted from the old Almayate quarry. Along the route, we will also visit the archaeological sites of “Los Toscanos” and “Mainova,” remains of the ancient Phoenician settlements that inhabited these coasts from the 8th to the 6th century BC, long before the Romans and Muslims enriched this region with their cultures.
We will also visit the mouth of the Vélez Málaga River, an important nesting area for many migratory birds. Quietly, so as not to disturb them, we will continue until we reach the seaside promenade of Torre del Mar.
Cycling, beauty, history, nature, and agriculture await us on this fantastic eBike adventure.
